Former President Donald Trump demanded the release of imprisoned January 6 Capitol rioters while congratulating Fox News host Tucker Carlson for pushing an alternative narrative of the attack.
Trump said in a Truth Social post on Monday that Carlson had achieved one of the nation's "biggest" news "scoops" due to Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy granting him access to more than 40,000 hours of January 6 surveillance footage taken from inside the Capitol. Trump said that he had been vindicated after Carlson aired some of the footage during his Fox News opinion show on Monday.
The former president maintained that the footage showed the House January 6 committee had been a "scam," while blaming Representative Nancy Pelosi, former Democratic House speaker, and GOP Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell for having "failed on security" before the riot.

Fox News has imposed a “soft ban” on Donald Trump appearing on the channel, his inner circle is reportedly complaining, even as the broadcaster extends a warm invitation to other Republican hopefuls in next year’s presidential election.
The news startup Semafor reports that the cooling of relations between the former president and his once-beloved cable news channel has gone so far that a “soft ban” or “silent ban” is now holding Trump at arm’s length. Meanwhile, Trump’s rivals for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination are currently frequent guests on Fox. Semafor said it based its story on information supplied by four members of Trump’s circle. The undeniable tailing off of Trump’s exposure on Fox comes at a tense moment for the network, which is battling a $1.6bn lawsuit from the voting machines company Dominion. We should note the immediate diversion by scientists to the natural cause and trying to crush any discussions about a lab leak as conspiracy theories and wacko's.
This was IMMEDIATELY after the virus emerged before there was even enough data/evidence, science or investigating to have any idea where it came from.
That by itself is proof of the ones that really knew it was a leak trying to create a completely false narrative ASAP because first impressions and the human psyche dictate that, once a person believes something.........they process all new information base on what they think that they know.
In this case, the early assumption of the natural cause caused everybody to believe only explanations of a natural cause and reject anything that suggested a lab leak.
The extremely left biased NYT was and still is suffering from this impact.
Again, just another source(though much more credible and professional than Fox) that tells readers the news the way they want to read it.........not always the truth but the news spun and sometimes abusing authentic facts(like with the fake climate crisis) so the product sells to people (and makes money for that for profit operation) who come there to read that exact spin.
