Outrageous': Capitol Police Chief Condemns Tucker Carlson's Claims Jan. 6 Was ‘Mostly Peaceful'

Police Chief Tom Manger also addressed a specific claim by Carlson that Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick’s death had nothing to do with the attack on the Capitol

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer also condemned Carlson's comments Tuesday, saying, "Last night millions of Americans tuned into one of the most shameful hours we have ever seen on cable television."

Later in the day, Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell said: "With regard to the presentation on Fox News last night, I want to associate myself entirely with the opinion of the Chief of the Capitol police about what happened on January 6."

Tucker should be fired immediately for such an outrageous/blatant,  intentional and very dangerous violation of the truth in describing the worst attack on our Constitution in history as "peaceful" to brainwash his viewers and for ratings, telling them what they want to believe and suggesting it was actually all set up by the FBI to frame President Trump........who was innocent of any wrong doing.

This is way over the top and beyond freedom of the press rights protection because, literally, 10s of millions of viewers(captured brains) believe everything that he says.

Tonight on his show, he is arrogantly gloating and manically bragging over the attention that he's getting for being television's biggest piece of crap in broadcast history.

However, the way that Fox in the evening gets ratings, he is more likely to demand a pay raise for boosting his ratings than to be held accountable.

Trump Demands Release of Jan. 6 Prisoners After Tucker Carlson's 'Scoop'

Former President Donald Trump demanded the release of imprisoned January 6 Capitol rioters while congratulating Fox News host Tucker Carlson for pushing an alternative narrative of the attack.

Trump said in a Truth Social post on Monday that Carlson had achieved one of the nation's "biggest" news "scoops" due to Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy granting him access to more than 40,000 hours of January 6 surveillance footage taken from inside the Capitol. Trump said that he had been vindicated after Carlson aired some of the footage during his Fox News opinion show on Monday.

The former president maintained that the footage showed the House January 6 committee had been a "scam," while blaming Representative Nancy Pelosi, former Democratic House speaker, and GOP Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell for having "failed on security" before the riot.

"Congratulations to Tucker Carlson on one of the biggest "scoops" as a reporter in U.S. history," Trump wrote. "The New Surveillance Footage of the January 6th Events sheds an entirely different light on what actually happened. The Unselect Committee was a giant SCAM, and has now unequivocally been stamped as CRIMINAL FABRICATORS OF THIS MOST IMPORTANT DAY."

There are just no words to describe this. Seriously. I'm speechless.

Following Tucker's off the charts biggest violation of the truth in broadcast history on a major network during prime time last night, Hannity followed it up with Trump.

Trump discussed numerous other topics for at least 10 minutes in what I would describe as a delusional rant from a person that belongs in a psychiatric ward  for in patient treatment to address their manic, deranged rambling about complete imagined/fictional nonsense!

It's from the 30 to 39 minute mark here:

What's ironic about Trump being on Hannity last night for an extended period was it followed this, just prior to yesterdays appearance:

Fri 3 Mar 2023 02.00 EST

Fox News reportedly imposes ‘soft ban’ on Donald Trump

The former president has not made a weekday showing on the channel since appearing on Sean Hannity’s show in September

Fox News has imposed a “soft ban” on Donald Trump appearing on the channel, his inner circle is reportedly complaining, even as the broadcaster extends a warm invitation to other Republican hopefuls in next year’s presidential election.

The news startup Semafor reports that the cooling of relations between the former president and his once-beloved cable news channel has gone so far that a “soft ban” or “silent ban” is now holding Trump at arm’s length. The former US president has not made a weekday showing on Fox News since he chatted with his closest friend among the network’s star hosts, Sean Hannity, in September.

Meanwhile, Trump’s rivals for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination are currently frequent guests on Fox. Media Matters for America, a watchdog that keeps a close eye on the network’s output, has counted seven weekday appearances by the former governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley since she launched her presidential bid last month.

Even the lesser known right-wing activist and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, who threw his hat into the ring last week, has appeared four times on Fox. Florida’s rightwing governor, Ron DeSantis, who is widely expected to compete with Trump though he has yet to declare, is also repeatedly seen on the network.

Semafor said it based its story on information supplied by four members of Trump’s circle. It quoted an unnamed individual “close to Trump” saying: “Everyone knows that there’s this ‘soft ban’ or ‘silent ban’. It’s certainly – however you want to say, quiet ban, soft ban, whatever it is – indicative of how the Murdochs feel about Trump in this particular moment.”

The Guardian asked Fox News to confirm or deny the existence of such a ban, but did not immediately receive a reply.

The undeniable tailing off of Trump’s exposure on Fox comes at a tense moment for the network, which is battling a $1.6bn lawsuit from the voting machines company Dominion. The suit claims that Fox News Network, with the complicit approval of its parent company Fox Corp, allowed wild defamatory conspiracy theories to proliferate on its platform, falsely accusing Dominion machines of stealing the 2020 presidential election from Trump by flipping votes from him to Joe Biden.

In excerpts of a deposition given in the case by Rupert Murdoch in January, the owner and chair of Fox Corp admitted that he knew that several Fox hosts were endorsing lies about the election being stolen from Trump yet he chose not to stop them. Legal and media experts have suggested that the admission places Murdoch’s empire in considerable legal and financial peril.

During Trump’s rise to the White House in 2015-16, and his ensuing years in office, he was virtually inseparable from Fox News. He regularly made impromptu calls into his favourite shows, and in the single year 2019 posted 657 tweets responding to content aired by the channel or its sister outlet Fox Business.

In the immediate aftermath of Trump’s defeat in the November 2020 election, Fox hosts were permitted to continue broadcasting lies about massive voter fraud. But since the stolen election campaign reached its nadir on 6 January 2021, with the insurrection at the US Capitol, followed later that year by the lodging of lawsuits by Dominion and another voting machine company, Fox has gradually backed away.

In turn, Trump has increasingly vented his anger towards his former media friend. This week he posted a rant on his social media platform Truth Social in which he accused Murdoch himself of peddling “fake news” after the Fox chief was revealed to have said in a deposition that he did not believe the stolen election lie from the beginning.

“If Rupert Murdoch honestly believes that the presidential election of 2020, despite massive amounts of proof to the contrary, was not rigged & stolen, then he & his group of Maga hating globalist Rinos [Republicans in name only] should get out of the news business as soon as possible,” Trump said.

This is all Donald Fricking Trump's fault. I can proudly say that I never even considered voting for that clown in 2016. NEVER! I saw how disrespectfully he treated his GOP opponents in the debates and during the primaries. I remember how nastily he treated John McCain by saying he didn't like people who were captured. And he said that knowing got out of serving in the military because of bone spurs. What a wuss of a bully! I also recall his earlier made up shit about Obama not being born in the US.

That scumbag knows that the Big Lie is a lie and he will never stop the propaganda related to it:

Any attempt to put Joe Biden anywhere close to Trump's level of evil is laughable, no matter what folks think about Biden.

So far tonight, Hannity is exploiting the situation to take advantage of the surge in viewers watching because of the Jan 6th hogwash attention from Tucker.

The first half of his show is blaming the failure of Capital Security and his long lived Nancy Pelosi lie. That she called off the security that Donald Trump asked for that day.

It was the exact opposite! Trump ordered the metal detectors be removed so his supporters would be allowed to have weapons!

Trump said 'I don't effing care that they have weapons. They're not here to hurt me' as an angry mob avoided metal detectors at his January 6 speech: ex-aide testimony

  • Former President Donald Trump was aware he had armed supporters on January 6, a former aide testified.
  • Cassidy Hutchinson, a top aide to Trump's then-chief of staff, testified on Tuesday.
  • Hutchinson said Trump wanted to fill in crowd space, even if they were armed.
What country do we live in that this person is not in prison for the rest of his life?

Instead, he's running for president again and has tens of millions of cult followers, along with the network with the highest evening ratings being the mouthpiece for his lies and extremely dangerous far right agenda.

One reason that this gets so much traction are the constant huge lies from the left  (fake climate crisis, Ukraine war propaganda, southern border crisis/lies, balloon-gate).

People are no longer faced with believing the side telling the truth anymore.

They align with the side telling them the lies they want to believe in!!!

This has been the marketing scheme by the gate keepers.

Presenting convincing sounding lies that people want to believe in using DISinformation, conspiracy theories, junk science and propaganda.

The information highway with powerful technological advances, along with social and broadcast media has amplified the ability to to brainwash people by numerous orders of magnitude.

We only had a few choices 40+ years ago.
ABC, NBC, CBS and local news and newspapers.

Now, there are tens of thousands and people just pick the sources/echo chambers that tell them what they want to read/hear.

Captured brains

Thanks Jean!

Al Gore is just a big bag of wind.........turbines (-:

That one gets twisted by a lot of people into him saying he invented the internet because he said he took the initiative in inventing the internet.  I think he means he played a key role.

His biggest legit claim is this:

Ironically, he earned that award using completely fraudulent science and chicanery and it's the most powerful evidence to prove my points earlier in this thread of what the gate keepers of messages have done to hijack politics and science(even rewrote climate history) for their political agenda, crony capitalism and to feed scientific corruption.

You warned us about Trump years ago.

However, my take is that Trump is another corrupt charlatan that knows how to maximize the exploitation of the dysfunctional system by creating an image of himself to sell and messages to sell to people that want to hear  AND BELIEVE those messages.

Actually, he is one of the best in history doing this because of his charisma and his initial notoriety to use as a platform to launch his political career.

Entities like Fox have been able to  increase ratings by broadcasting those messages to viewers that want to hear those messages.

On the other side, entities like the UN-United Nations have taken over climate science by creating the IPCC(InterGOVERNMENTAL Panel on Climate Change) which does the exact same thing............using messages about how we can "save the planet"

Almost everybody wants to hear messages about how we can save the only planet we have for life and for their children.

They turned a beneficial gas, CO2 into pollution and turned the best weather and climate in over 1,000 years during the current climate optimum into a fake climate crisis.

To save the planet, which is greening up from the extra CO2 and beneficial climate.........they are WRECKING IT with anti environmental and fake green energy, solar and especially wind turbines.

All for political agenda, crony capitalism via the hijacking of climate science. If you think that all scientists are Mother Theresa's in white coats giving up their lives applying the scientific method.......you are dead wrong.

There are some wonderful scientists bit climate science is controlled by human beings that respond to the same pressures and corruption as others in non science fields, that includes financial incentive, political affiliation(80% are liberals), blatant bias and peer pressure/career fortunes.

The effective way to discredit scientists like me stating these things is to make us out to be anti environmental or for big oil.

Just one impossible problem in my case...........I'm an active practicing environmentalist!

Also an honest, objective, independent scientist unaffiliated with a political side that makes $0 on this issue.

The real environmental crisis's/insects dying-dead zones-aquifers drying up-plastics in the ocean-landfills/trash-over consumption of natural resources-REAL pollution in the air/soil/water-WIND TURBINES (metmike is a PRACTICING environmentalist): April 2019

Tonight, it was CNNs turn to have a raging lunatic on that vast amounts of people idolize……Zelensky.

he insists that there will be no negotiating with Russia until every russian soldier has left ukraine.

Dangerous psychopath!

every Ukrainian  soldier will be dead before that happens and trillions in damage to his country!

he refused to negotiate with Putin before the attack which is exactly why Ukraine was attacked.

he’s refusing still now after getting his country decimated by Russia And making demands of Russiia Before he will even consider negotiating.

the clear message to Russia from Zelensky …..”you want   to keep Ukraine out of NATO……I want Ukraine in NATO more than I want peace For my people!!!

he doesn’t care about human lives or his country and is getting them obliterated Because his PERSONAL cause as a NATO puppet trumps the well being and best interest of his people. One of worst leaders in history, betraying his people and the promise he made to get elected “if you elect me, I will negotiate with Russia to bring lasting peace for Ukrainians”

 why would Russia consider withdrawing?

Russias very clear message is that they will not let NATO have Ukraine.
zelensky continues to,plead for NATO help and NATO acceptance, doing the exact thing to make it the most likely for a Putin to NOT withdraw his troops.

doubling and tripling down on the exact thing completely responsible for the war.

extremely dangerous psychopath!!

endless war as long as he’s in charge along with diabolical, disengenous entities like NATO and the US military, industrial complex, led by the current administrations political agenda.

empowered by a complicit media passing along the blatant war propaganda.

of course evil Putin is to blame for the unjustified attack but it was definitely provoked and could have easily been avoided with an agreement to keep Ukraine out of NATO.

zelensky and company continue to deceive about that.

if he really wanted Russia out, he would agree to not join NATO.

but he loves NATO and his super hero image that they have bestowed upon him for the world to inflate his enormous ego, to do their dirty work more than the human beings that he should be protecting in his own country.

the blatant truth is awfully harsh when the schemes of powerful, evil people with no accountability are revealed.

Ironically, last night, Fox covered the origin of the COVID virus and has been one of the few places to nail the truth from the get go.

Anybody with common sense knows that it came from the Wuhan Lab, despite the cover up by corrupt/dishonest scientists(again, you would be shocked at some of the flawed, unethical and anti scientific behavior of many scientists).

No one believed the Covid Wuhan lab leak theory – then the world changed its tune

Idea that the virus escaped from Chinese city used to be widely dismissed, but is now becoming ever more plausible

Here's an example of one of  the thousands of articles which were the product of corrupt science(tists) trying to cover up this apocalyptic accident by scientists. With the media more than happy to be complicit in the covering up crime.

Evidence suggests pandemic came from nature, not a lab, panel says

We should note the immediate diversion by scientists to the natural cause and trying to crush any discussions about a lab leak as conspiracy theories and wacko's.

This was IMMEDIATELY after the virus emerged before there was even enough data/evidence, science or investigating to have any idea where it came from.

That by itself is proof of the ones that really knew it was a leak trying to create a completely false narrative ASAP because first impressions and the human psyche dictate that, once a person believes something.........they process all new information base on what they think that they know.

In this case, the early assumption of the natural cause caused everybody to believe only explanations of a natural cause and reject anything that suggested a lab leak.

The extremely left  biased NYT was and still is suffering from this impact.

Again, just another source(though much more credible and professional than Fox) that tells readers the news the way they want to read it.........not always the truth but the news spun and sometimes abusing authentic facts(like with the fake climate crisis) so the product sells to people (and makes money for that for profit operation) who come there to read that exact spin.

If the NYT suddenly took on a much farther right bias.........they would lose many of their readers and go out of business.

If Fox in the evenings flipped to broadcasting much more liberal stuff.....their ratings would crash and they would struggle to make a profit.

They are deceiving us for profits.

I was the chief meteorologist for a major network tv station in Evansville, IN for 11 years.

We were told how important ratings are every month. "It's not what you say or what you do as long as it gets people to watch!"
