Our dairy industry does not require large amounts of gov't funded buy outs, or 1 penny of gov't money since the current system has been implemented

Before they system started dairy farmers were feeding milk to the hogs

Today, we have some of the most modern dairy barns in NA. Climate controlled and everything from A to Z run by computer. Every cow has a chain hanging around her neck to measure milk an feed intake to the number of steps she walks in a day. Truly amazing, and a great way to anticipate if she if off her feed for some reason, such as being sickly. Her milk is immediately dumped down the waste drain and does not go the the bulk cooler. She also rests in a clean bed of special sand

In CA I saw dead cows laying out in the manure, all sort of puffed up, with stiff legs sort of stuck out straight, some even pointing upwards. I suppose they gather up the dead cows on a weekly basis.

And to think those sick cows milk went into the bulk milk cooler until the day they died. They did not die because they were healthy

We buy smaller amounts, more often, when visiting the USA with kitchen facilities as we know it isn't the same
